Essence of Healing Institute
Suffering is a universal experience of being human. It occurs when we abandon our authentic self, losing our sense of integrity. It is also the doorway to healing, which is the journey towards wholeness. Healing essence is an innate quality of completeness, emerging from an intuitive capacity to continuously monitor the moment, choosing the path of authenticity with grace. Healing essence principles inform and renew individual, professional and organizational health. Renewed healers recommit to their mission and calling, rooted in the knowing that every person has inherent worth and healing potential within themselves. This intention brought to patient care, helps people move beyond curing, to the process of deep healing in their own health-illness journey.
The following Essence of Healing Goals are dedicated to enhancement of healthcare clinicians who:
- Commit to their own ongoing healing journey
- Develop increasing capacity to offer a healing presence to those served
- Increase their ability to contribute to the advancement of community-wide and global health promotion & disease prevention initiatives;
- Intensify awareness of other perspectives that enhance self-care capacity of individuals and communities.

Authentic service can be seen in the nurse who has nurtured herself, the healer who has been healed. It is the service we hear when the nurse can speak from her heart to the patient these simply and humble words, “I am here". Let’s heal together.” --Caryn Summers
